IPTOP Grants and IPTOP Award

IPTOP has two Grants and one Award available by application.

1. IPTOP Education Grant

The purpose of the International Association of Physiotherapists working with Older People (IPTOP) Education Grant is to facilitate members’ knowledge exchange at professional geriatric or physiotherapy conferences, through

 

  1. supporting a poster or platform presentation
  2. Supporting attendance at a national or international conference

2. Dr. Raymond Finlay Grant

IPTOP’s inaugural President and Chair was Olwen Finlay. In 1999, her husband, Dr. Raymond Finlay was instrumental in supporting Olwen in the founding of IPTOP through financial support from himself and professional friends and colleagues. Dr. Finlay passed away on April 8, 2018. In memory of Raymond Finlay, a bursary was founded by the Finlay family and others.

The purpose of the IPTOP Raymond Finlay Award is to support only our younger members (aged 30 or under) to attend a World Physiotherapy Congress and delivering a poster or a platform presentation in relation to Physiotherapy with Older People. The award is for up to £350 (Sterling).

The recipient will be asked to write an article for the IPTOP Newsletter and will meet with the IPTOP Executive Committee at the Conference. For further details and to apply see https://forms.gle/qd6WmZxnjwAMy84j6

3. IPTOP Award

IPTOP may grant an award for a specific or significant contribution to knowledge exchange in older people’s physiotherapy. This will be for $250 USD and IPTOP may grant up to 4 such awards a year. These may be linked to events, such as a poster award at World Physiotherapy Congress, or for specific publications such as a paper or thesis publication.
